Don't Say Baby is an easy baby shower game that runs in the background while guests mingle. Give everyone a peg, token or bracelet when they arrive. If a guest hears someone say “baby”, they claim that person's token. The guest holding the most tokens at the agreed finish time wins.

How to play Don't Say Baby
- Give every guest one token as they arrive.
- Explain that “baby” is the forbidden word. Decide whether close alternatives such as “little one” are allowed; keeping only one forbidden word is easiest.
- If a guest hears another player say “baby”, they may claim one of that player's tokens.
- A player with no tokens can keep listening and rejoin as soon as they catch someone else.
- Announce a clear finish time. The guest with the most tokens wins.
Host tip: Start the game after everyone has heard the rules, not the moment the first person arrives. Put the rule on a visible sign so late arrivals are not disadvantaged.

Short round
Run the game for 30 minutes during drinks and introductions, then announce the winner before the first seated activity. This works well when your schedule is already full.
Make the game comfortable for everyone
Offer wristbands or table tokens instead of small pegs for guests with limited dexterity. Let people opt out without explanation, keep the rules in large clear text, and use the no-stealing version if close contact may be uncomfortable.
