One player acts while two people guess. When a clue is solved, the performer and the first correct guesser receive one point. Rotate after two cards so each person performs the same number of times. Easy prompts include changing a nappy, pushing a pram and rocking a baby.

2. Who knows the parent-to-be?

You need: eight questions and two answer sheets | Time: 8 minutes

If the parent-to-be is playing, they become the quizmaster while the other two answer questions about their favourites, childhood and baby preparations. Swap one question for a story after each reveal so the round feels personal rather than like a test.

3. Pass-the-picture drawing relay

You need: paper, pens and prompt cards | Time: 6 minutes

Player one reads a baby-related prompt and draws for 20 seconds. Player two studies the drawing for five seconds, then redraws it on fresh paper without seeing the prompt. Player three guesses the original clue. Rotate roles for three rounds and award one group point for every correct final answer.

4. Baby item closest-wins

You need: five baby items and their current prices | Time: 7 minutes

All three players estimate the price of each item. The closest answer receives one point; an exact answer receives two. Use a tie-break question for the total price of the basket, then give the items to the parent-to-be.

5. Mystery baby item bag

You need: an opaque bag and six safe baby items | Time: 6 minutes

Without looking, each player feels one item for 20 seconds and writes a guess. Rotate the bag until everybody has handled two objects. Choose clean items without sharp edges, such as a bib, sock, soft brush, dummy case, muslin or toy.

6. Baby alphabet chain

You need: nothing | Time: 5 minutes

Work together from A to Z, taking turns to name a baby item, name or nursery word for the next letter. Allow one group pass for difficult letters. Set a five-minute target and try a second round using only baby names if the first is completed quickly.

7. Prediction match

You need: three prediction cards | Time: 5 minutes

Each person privately predicts the baby's arrival date, time and weight, plus one light-hearted detail such as first food or favourite toy. Seal the cards and give them to the family. This is an unscored finish that creates a keepsake without forcing a winner.
